We’re thrilled to welcome Terri Young to the Junior Achievement (JA) team! With a career spanning professional and collegiate sports, Terri brings a wealth of experience in sales, partnerships, and relationship-building, and she’s ready to channel that expertise into advancing JA’s mission.
Terri graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in communications and launched her career with the Pittsburgh Maulers USFL Football Team, where she learned the ropes of sales in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. She went on to work with the Pittsburgh Penguins, helping the team grow its brand and celebrate two Stanley Cup victories, and later honed her skills in corporate partnerships with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Pirates, sports radio, and West Virginia University athletics.
When Terri began exploring her next opportunity, she was drawn to JA because she wanted to make a meaningful difference. “I wanted to use my skills to help an organization that is making a real impact,” Terri says. “After learning more about JA and our programs like JA BizTown®, I knew this was a perfect fit.”
In her new role, Terri is excited to connect with businesses, promote JA’s programs, and share the impact we’re making on young people every day. Her goal is to increase awareness of JA’s work and inspire more schools and companies to support our programs that teach financial literacy, job readiness, and entrepreneurship.
Terri brings the same integrity, passion, and dedication to JA that she has throughout her career. She believes in forming strong, authentic relationships and is excited to help guide more young people toward success.
Outside of work, Terri enjoys spending time with her large extended family, cheering on youth sports, and staying active. She’s passionate about creating memories with her loved ones and believes that life lessons often happen outside the office, whether on the field, at the gym, or in the park.
