Honoring Young Trailblazers: 18 Under Eighteen 2025
As Generations Z and Alpha continue to shape the future, a remarkable group of young individuals is already making an impact. Recognizing and celebrating these leaders is the heart of our 18 Under Eighteen initiative, an annual program dedicated to highlighting those who use their passions, talents, and influence to drive meaningful change.
A New Class of Visionaries
Our 2025 18 Under Eighteen presented by the EQT Foundation launched in fall 2024 with an open call for nominations. After receiving over 100 inspiring submissions, conducting in-depth interviews with 36 outstanding candidates, and ultimately selecting 18 exceptional young changemakers, the 2025 honoree class was born.
This year’s honorees include advocates, entrepreneurs, writers, engineers, and visionaries ranging from 12 to 18 years old. Their initiatives address critical issues such as environmental sustainability, youth mental health, education equity, and social justice. These young leaders are actively shaping a brighter future and setting new standards for innovation and leadership.
A Night of Inspiration and Celebration
On February 4, 2025, we hosted our annual 18 Under Eighteen presented by the EQT Foundation recognition ceremony at Acrisure Stadium, bringing together over 150 attendees to honor these inspiring young changemakers.
Audacy’s Ki Ki Brown emcee’d sharing each honoree’s journeys, ambitions, and the impact of their work. As they stepped onto the stage to receive their awards, a hand-picked “walk-up song” played, adding a personal touch to the celebration.
This year’s event embraced an even bolder and more dynamic atmosphere, incorporating cutting-edge digital visuals, interactive elements, and immersive storytelling to highlight the honorees’ innovative mindsets.
Beyond the awards, the ceremony provided a valuable networking experience. Community leaders, business executives, and industry professionals connected with the honorees, discussing opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and continued growth.
In preparation for this momentous occasion, many of the honorees participated in 10 hours of the Intern to VP® Professional Branding and Leadership Development Training Program presented by Moments of Focus LLC. This program equipped them with essential skills in personal branding, professional networking, and leadership development.
Support for the honorees extended far beyond the event itself. Family, friends, educators, and regional organizations came together to celebrate their achievements. 19 corporate sponsors, including presenting partner the EQT Foundation, Lamar, Koppers, TriState Capital, Olympus Energy, ERIEZ, PPG, and TribLive.
Before the ceremony, honorees enjoyed an exclusive VIP tour of Acrisure Stadium, further strengthening their bonds while experiencing the rich history of the Pittsburgh Steelers, stepping onto the field, and seeing their names on the jumbotron.
