Job Shadow

Junior Achievement Job Shadow

We had a very successful National JA Groundhog Job Shadow Day on February 2, 2012! Over 200 students job shadowed at Pittsburgh businesses! See some pictures below.

A Huntington Bank employee teaches a JA student about banking; and students pose with Steelers Ryan Mundy after his presentation at BNY Mellon!

Job Shadowing is designed to give kids an opportunity to "shadow" an adult during their daily work activities. It inspires kids to be enthusiastic about their studies by showing them the correlation between what they learn in school and how it is used in the workplace.

The goal is to help young people explore first hand the skills and education needed to succeed in today and future job markets, and to encourage the development of relationships between students and caring adults. Now, more than ever, students need these valuable experiences.

Some of the organizations who have had Job Shadow events this year include:

  • AT&T
  • BNY Mellon
  • Huntington Bank
